Job Overview:
The Membership Services Representative plays a dual role, providing excellent customer service in a retail banking setting while also handling back-office administrative tasks. In the mornings, you’ll assist members with their banking needs, answer inquiries, and cross-sell credit union products. In the afternoons, you’ll shift to administrative duties, making outbound calls, following up on documentation, and processing data. This role requires a confident, customer-focused individual with attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to recommend and sell products. Perfect for someone with a background in customer service, retail, or serving.
Job Duties:
- Provide front-facing retail banking services to members, addressing their financial needs and inquiries
- Assist members with transactions, account management, and service-related questions
- Cross-sell and upsell credit union products and services to meet members' needs
- Maintain a professional, personable, and approachable demeanor as the face of the organization
- Perform outbound calling (approximately 20 calls per day) to follow up on missing documents and member inquiries submitted via support tickets
- Handle data entry and various administrative tasks in the back office
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of member information and documentation
- Stay knowledgeable about credit union products and services to confidently recommend and sell to members
- Maintain strong attention to detail and comfort with numbers for account management and service accuracy
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve member issues and improve service efficiency
Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of customer service experience (retail, serving, or similar background)
- Comfortable with numbers and basic math
- Confident in making product recommendations and sales
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in following up with members
