Responsibilities of the Youth Support Specialist:
- Oversee physical care of residents
- Development of acceptable habits and attitudes for residents
- Management of resident behavior
- Assist in meeting the goals and objectives of any resident service plan
- Responsible for the coordinated supervision of the residents
- Continuous awareness and ability to give a report of each resident
- Maintain structure and regulations at all times
- Completely and accurately document any required forms
- Perform waive testing on residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed with complete accuracy and compliance
- Attend all training mandated and continuously pursue training opportunities to meet standards
- Other duties as assigned by the CEO, Director of Program Services, and Director of Residential
- Ability to work on the weekends
Qualifications of the Youth Support Specialist:
- High School Diploma and six months experience working with children
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services OR actively pursuing the degree
- Knowledge and understanding of the organization’s mission and values
- Ability to support constructive resident-family visitation and resident involvement in community activities
- Ability to provide services in a culturally and linguistically competent manner
- Possess the temperament to work with and care for children, and youth, some with special needs in multiple age ranges
- Ability to accurately collect, review, and analyze waive testing of residents after home visits, runaways, and as needed
Logistics of Position:
- Saturday and Sunday: 12 hour shifts 6 AM - 6 PM
- Two 8-hour weekday shifts: 6 AM - 6 PM
