Responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator:
- Conduct yearly inspections of all company business parks and rooftop safety systems, delivering comprehensive reports to management
- Assist the Safety Manager with various responsibilities, including new hire orientations, managing PPE inventory, facilitating safety training sessions, and handling data entry tasks
- Perform inspections on rooftops, safety equipment, and other areas requiring the use of safety harnesses and ladders
- Engage with employees to address safety concerns and provide guidance on maintaining a safe work environment
- Maintain detailed reports of inspections, safety improvements, and compliance efforts
- Carry out additional safety-related duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Safety Coordinator:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideally in Occupational Safety and Health, Risk Management, Project Management, or Construction Management; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
- Familiar with OSHA safety standards
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with safety equipment, maintenance inspections, and compliance standards
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to groups
- Open to occasional out-of-state travel
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screening
