Responsibilities of the Temporary Education Programs Coordinator:

  • Support the Director of Education by managing the director’s calendar, monitoring and responding to emails, and setting up meetings. Conduct research and draft correspondence as needed.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of the Education department, including scheduling, supporting online and onsite events and meetings, answering general inquiries, and arranging housing and transportation when necessary.
  • Manage logistics for national professional development programs, both online and onsite. Responsibilities include scheduling events, overseeing technology, and facilitating communication with event leaders and participants.
  • Organize and support training retreats and professional development workshops for educators, including all related logistics.
  • Assist in managing student experience programs by scheduling tours and workshops, arranging transportation, coordinating with internal and external partners, and serving as a point of contact.
  • Oversee the docent program by serving as the primary point of contact, scheduling continuing education sessions, tracking volunteer hours, and planning new training classes.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of contracts and agreements related to education initiatives.
  • Process invoices and payments, and assist in tracking project budgets and overall department finances.
  • Maintain and update content on the organization’s website, ensuring timely and accurate event postings and other education-related materials.
  • Collaborate with internal staff to contribute content to the organization’s internal newsletter and coordinate its distribution.

Qualifications of the Temporary Education Prgram Coordinator:

  • B.A. degree or equivalent, with a background in English, Humanities, Museum Studies, or Education preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of administrative experience required.
  • Experience in a cultural or educational institution is desirable but not required.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds is required.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, track budgets, and handle administrative responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing projects, tasks, and stakeholder relationships
